Hi everybody! Here's another track from our latest album of acoustic covers 'Shoo Away The Sparrows' (link above).

I Love You Always Forever by Donna Lewis was released in 1996 when you were just a baby, and reached number 2 in the Billboard Hot 100 chart - being blocked from the top spot by The Macarena, and proving that no matter how good your thing is, it will always be less preferable than a game of Simon Says. 😠

It's a fantastic piece of pop arrangement, with a gently driving percussiveness that keeps the song bouncing along even in the sparse verse sections. We thought we could probably recreate something similar with a constant chugging acoustic guitar playing some simple two note chords - just enough to suggest the changes - while Soph's natty custom Tele takes the more rounded chordal motif of Donna Lewis' gorgeously bright piano parts.

We secretly thought this might just be a little simple bit of filler for the album, but it's quickly become one of our favourite covers not only of this record, but that we've ever done... there's something so infectiously upbeat and positive about it. Critics described it a 'Wholesome' back in the day, and I suppose at the time it would have come as a breath of fresh air in a predominanly dark and brooding pop-landscape.

We shot this one outdoors, which he haven't done a whole lot of, so we're assuming that our camera settings were wrong somehow - if there are any videographers or filmmakers watching who can spot room for improvement, do let us know (we're looking at you, Chris!)

In other news, yesterday we did a gig on the welsh coast at a venue with a resident albino peacock wandering around. His name was Snowy and you can catch a little clip of him displaying his full, brilliant white plumage over on our Instagram feed (click the 'About' section of our channel and you'll see a link to it on the right hand side of the banner at the top). We were slightly sad to discover that this beautiful display was a defensive move to ward off the three alpha males that turn up to every wedding who thought it'd be funny to harrass him a bit.

We won't stand for this, so we did the only thing you can in that situation, and immediately set up a looper rig, drawing their harrasment away from the peacock on onto us.

I swear one day we will elecrify our gig barriers with higher than the recommended voltage. The Geneva Convention can suck it.
