Description
The angle of your palm when releasing different pitches is key 🔑
As much as I played around with my grips and whatnot, it didn’t really occur to me how much influence palm angle@on release helps execute different pitches 🤯
This is a concept many people think is simple, but this for my pitchers that weren’t aware. For example, on curveballs, I’d always have my palm facing forward (like a fastball) and twist my wrist on release. This would just cause the curve to fly out and be a useless spinner 😵💫
Of course it wasn’t until I stopped pitching that I learn the role of how the palm angle affects break. This is a tough concept to explain written, and I’m sure there are terms for this palm angle (supination/pronation??) that pitchers would know. If you got any takes on this, please share. Any questions, please comment 🙏🏽
